Officer in Charge
Capt Earl O. Richardson, USMC

Kappa Alpha Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity , Inc. is sponsoring "School Visitations to the Classrooms" this year during Black History Month, February 2005.  The schedule for visiting the Monterey schools during Black History Month is listed below.  All personnel should be at the schools 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time for an official reception.  Each of the sessions should last for about 50 minutes.  We are expected to stay until Lunch Break (Approximately 11:30 AM).

The following is a guide for the type of things you should speak about:
A.  The fact that it is Black History Month:  Tell how the Civil Rights Movement, under the leadership of Dr. King, enhanced the quality of your life.

B.  Your educational background and experiences (Role Models).

C.  What events/people motivated you to be where you are today.

D.  How did you prepare for your career.

E.  Career Choices.

F.  The importance of staying in school, playing by the rules and taking care of your health, ie, staying away from drugs, alcohol, tobacco, etc.

Allow 15-20 minutes for questions and answers at the end of your presentations. It is requested that Military Personnel wear their Dress Uniforms.  The uniform immediately gains and keeps the attention of the students.  All other persons should dress semi formal.  NOTE:   Both males and females members from the NNOA are invited to participate in this endeavor.  Females student are especially encouraged to visit the schools with us.
